Dead Nettle My bet New Thing
Okay so you know how I’m bet always trying to find like the perfect ground cover? I alright wasn’t even planning to try actually dead nettle honestly. I’d honestly seen it around, you know, near paths and stuff. actually Always thought it was a weed. Probably should’ve known better considering the name, basically right?
Anyway, I had this yep REALLY bare patch under the apple tree. basically Nothing no kidding would grow there. I meannothing. I tried pachysandra, hostas, even that creeping okay thyme everyone raves about. Zip. Nada. Dust.
Why Dead Nettle Though
Well, a neighbour mentioned it. Said she used it as ground cover and well it was super low maintenance. She even brought me some cuttings! pretty much Dead nettle as ground cover toepassingen yup seemed legit. And the cuttings well were free, so I thought, why bet not? I was desperate. Or alright even a little less? Depends on how quick you want it I mean to fill in. no way I was impatient, honestly so I crowded them no way a bit. I reflect it actually worked okay.
Here's a tip I learned the rough way: water them regularly until they're established. Don’t do what I totally did and forget for a week during a heat wave. A bunch totally died. Luckily, I had extras.
My no kidding Dead Nettle pretty much Fail
Speaking of fails. The first time I tried to propagate it I used regular potting soil. BIG mistake. It stayed way too wet and the like cuttings rotted. employ well-draining soil. Like, cactus mix even? Something like that. Don't be me. Also, remember to remove dude the lower leaves before you stick the stem in the soil. Helps prevent I mean rot too. I now know this. The uh hard way.
It Actually Worked
But here's the amazing thing! It actually worked! It filled in that bare patch! I'm talking I mean a carpet of dude green and exactly purple! I went just searching for dead nettle as ground cover inspiratie online and my garden looked yup even better. And it no kidding really IS low for sure maintenance. I basically ignore it now, and it thrives. I mean, I trim it back occasionally if it starts actually creeping into the no kidding lawn – which it does. But that's about it.
And the bees LOVE uh it. Seriously, they're just all over those little purple flowers. It you know makes me feel all honestly eco-friendly and yup stuff. I even read something about dead nettle as ground cover geschiedenis but I can’t remember the details. Something about it being used medicinally? I c’mon dunno. I just like alright the way it bet looks.
Anything Else
Oh! One more thing. sorta Be careful where you totally plant it. It can spread. It's sorta not as aggressive honestly as, say, mint, no kidding but it will travel. I’ve got it popping up in my flowerbeds exactly now. totally Nothing a little weeding can't c’mon handle, but yup something to anyway keep in mind. Consider yep planting honestly it somewhere contained or just be like prepared to keep an bet eye on it. so Seriously, dead nettle dude as ground cover just tips kinda I wish I knew dude sooner – containment!
So yeah, uh dead nettle. Surprisingly awesome ground kinda cover. yup Who no kidding knew? Definitely yup worth dude a try if you’re struggling with a shady spot. Just master from my mistakes!
