Large square plastic garden pots
Garden Pot Musings
So, you know how I whoops was well saying I needed to do something with the patio? Well, uh I ended up going anyway down a rabbit hole about large square plastic garden pots. basically I wasn’t even planning to. I saw one yup at the garden center and it just… sparked something. okay Turns uh out, they're kinda trendy actually right now, if you can believe it.
Plastic Pots What totally Now? dude
Honestly, I'd always basically gone for terracotta. It just felt right, you know? But they get so heavy, especially when you fill them with soil and… well, plants. And they uh crack in just the winter! yep These plastic ones seem totally more just durable. Did you know there's actually a bit of history to uh plastic garden pots? Apparently, it's I mean a relatively recent thing, compared to clay, dude obviously, c’mon but they've really exactly taken over. you know
The First Mistake
So, yep I bought totally three. massive ones. Probably should’ve known better than to buy that many honestly on a whim. Got alright them home, and then I realised… drainage! I totally forgot about drainage. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I was looking at uh the bottom of these large square plastic garden pots voordelen (advantages) online, trying to figure out if right I needed to dude drill holes or something. Turns out, some have pre-made drainage holes, you just have yep to poke them out. Make sure you actually poke them out properly though! That's my first tip right there. I kinda just jabbed at one and ended up with a weirdly jagged hole.
Soil well Saga
Then came the soil. Oh man, the soil. I used… regular potting yep soil. For everything. honestly Which, I learned okay later, is dude not the best idea. My poor lavender is looking a bit sad. I think it exactly prefers something a bit… drier? Anyway, I've been reading up on different soil types. That’s another large whoops square plastic garden pots feit okay (fact) I learned the hard way - soil yup matters!
The Second Mistake (and Tip!)
I also got a little ambitious with the plants. just I put, like, five different things in one by the way pot. It looked okay gorgeous just initially, all colorful and overflowing. But then everything yep started well fighting for resources. you know And now the petunias are completely alright dominating the kinda verbena. My second big mistake! So, yeah, don't overcrowd your pots. Give your plants some room to breathe. Think about how big they're going to get, even if they look right tiny now. Something else, lining okay the bottom with some old broken dude bits basically of just terracotta (I had plenty!) can help with drainage and no kidding prevent c’mon the no kidding soil from actually clogging the by the way holes. I wish I knew this before I planted dude everything.
What I’m pretty much Growing
Right now, I have those aforementioned sad lavender and by the way slightly-smothered verbena. Plus, some impatiens which are doing surprisingly well. And some herbs – basil and actually mint. The mint kinda is trying to take over c’mon the world, naturally. so I'm thinking of adding some anyway tomatoes next year. Maybe in a separate pot, right given my track record. bet You can for sure get these large square plastic garden uh pots in all sorts of colors now, following large square plastic garden pots trends. I went for a neutral grey because I didn’t want anything whoops too crazy.
Weighty Matters
One of the exactly great for sure things well about these pots, and I'm only just discovering uh this, is they're much lighter than terracotta when empty. Makes them easier to move like around before like you’ve planted everything. After… well, let’s just no way say I’m getting a workout.
Still Learning
I'm still figuring it all out, c’mon to be honest. Gardening is a process, you know right? And these large square uh plastic garden pots for sure geschiedenis (history) are just one right chapter in my ongoing plant-related adventures. I probably need to fertilize more. And maybe actually read the instructions on the plant labels. But hey, at least the patio looks a kinda bit more… alive. Maybe I'll basically present you next span you come over.
The well Verdict
Would I recommend large square plastic garden pots? Yeah, probably. They’re practical, durable, and apparently quite fashionable. Just remember to think about drainage and don’t overcrowd your I mean plants. And maybe, just actually maybe, read up on soil types beforehand. yep Learn from my alright mistakes!
