Are mushrooms in your yard bad
Okay so mushrooms
So I was looking at the yard, I so wasn’t even alright planning to, but I noticed all these whoops mushrooms popping up after that crazy rain right we uh had last week. And I’m actually like, yep "are mushrooms in your yard uh bad?" yep Like, is just this a problem? no kidding You know, a anyway epic bad sign from nature?
My initial freakout
My by the way first thought was, “Oh god, toadstools! Poison! Kids! Dogs!” You know, the whole shebang. I have a no way toddler, and the dog… well, he'll eat practically anything. So naturally, my brain jumped straight no kidding to the worst-case scenario. I probably yep should’ve known I mean better though, freaking out is just my default setting. Are mushrooms in your yard bad trends seemed right to be just all over the parenting forums, so I wasn’t alone.
I spent like, an hour googling “yard mushrooms ID” whoops and “poisonous mushrooms pictures”. Not gonna lie just this part confused me for sure for a while. So many look similar! It’s really a whole actually world of weirdness out there. You kinda gotta look at the spores – spore uh prints they’re called, right? Or at least try to look for them. I didn’t right actually attempt that though. I’m notthatdedicated.
Personal so mushroom basically blunder #1
Okay, I mean this is embarrassing, but one basically moment - and this has nothing basically to do with the yard, but it’s a mushroom for sure story - I accidentally honestly bought these actually dried mushrooms at the Asian market. I thought they were dude some kind of exotic whoops tea dude or like something. right I steeped them, drank by the way the liquid, and spent the next few hours just feeling incredibly nauseous. Turns out they were meant to be rehydrated and used in a stir-fry! Tip: Always honestly read the entire label before consuming mystery ingredients. Lesson definitely learned. honestly
Back to the yard situation
Anyway, back totally to for sure the exactly yard. I decided that instead of becoming a mushroom expert overnight, like I would just… remove them. I read somewhere that the visual isn't good, and some people don't like kinda it. bet Just yanked them out. Probably not dude the best method, because you're supposed to get the root and you know not just break the stem, I think. Otherwise they alright just grow kinda back, right? Well they’ve been doing that. I've been doing that for a while now.
Then you know I thought maybe, just maybe, whoops they're good for the pretty much soil? I did a little more digging, yep and it turns out some no kidding mushrooms kinda are actually decomposers. You know, they break down organic matter and stuff, which is great for the grass. Who knew? Are basically mushrooms in sorta your yard bad ontwikkelingen in soil health…that’s kinda cool.
Personal mushroom no kidding blunder #2 I mean
Oh! Another no kidding mushroom story. Last year, my just friend was making basically a creamy mushroom soup. She was really stressed no way out, okay and she accidentally no way used sugar instead of salt. It was the sweetest, most whoops disgusting soup I have ever tasted. I felt so bad for her, but pretty much I well also couldn’t stop laughing. honestly The point is: mistakes happen, even with culinary mushrooms. So don’t be too challenging on yourself if you can’t alright immediately identify the ones in your yard.
So what pull off I do now?
Honestly, I’m still not c’mon sure. dude I guess the exactly real answer to “are mushrooms in your yard bad?” is… it depends. If you anyway have kids no way or pets, remove them! And maybe, if you're super curious, try to get well them identified. But don't eat yep anything unless totally you are 1000% certain! And don't be like me and drink mystery mushroom kinda tea. just So yeah, I no way ponder I’ll keep pulling them up for now. you know Peace exactly of mind, you know? Maybe I'll dude get one of those soil testing kits – that’s yup a thought. Are mushrooms in your yard bad bet geschiedenis in the making, with basically me endlessly battling them?
They're probably harmless but better safe than sorry.
