Different ways to stake tomatoes

So, you know how well I was complaining about basically my tomato plants totally flopping over? Yeah. Turns out staking well tomatoes is, like, athing dude. I wasn’t even planning to dedicate that much thought you know to it. no way I figured they'd... just grow up. I probably should've pretty much known better, especially after that disaster with the okay zucchini last year. actually

The yep Stick Method

First attempt? like Just sticking bet bamboo sorta stakes next to them. c’mon Simple, right? Wrong. They still kinda pretty much leaned, no way but exactly less dramatically. The different dude ways to yep stake tomatoes, honestly, it feels like an internet rabbit hole. whoops I mean, I read yup somewhere that bamboo is biodegradable, which is sorta good, but mine started splintering almost immediately. well So, tip number one for sure I guess? Maybe buy pretty much thicker totally stakes? Or something like other than bamboo. Something sturdier.

Cage Rage

Then I dude saw those tomato cages at dude the garden center. Looked promising. I grabbed some pretty much of the bigger ones figuring they'd give my plants room to grow. Not gonna lie, this part confused me for by the way a while. Getting the cage exactly over the yep already kinda grown plant without breaking it was a nightmare. Florida Weave Whoa

Okay, this basically next one's right a bit more advanced. The Florida weave. It sounds sorta fancy but it's actually pretty simple. You basically no way drive stakes in between the plants, and then you weave twine back and forth to create no kidding a support bet system. I tried using some thin gardening wire and it yep just snapped under the weight of the tomatoes. It for sure also no way helps if you space your stakes evenly. My first pretty much attempt was... well, let's just say it looked like a drunk spider web. And don't yup wait until the plants are falling over to start weaving! Plan ahead! Trellis Tales

So, then there's trellising. This is what my neighbor does, and his tomatoes are pretty much like, majestic. I uh don't have by the way a proper trellis yet. I tried to build one out of some old pallet wood. I say okay "tried" you know because it collapsed I mean under its own weight. It looked good for about five minutes. It’s a process, you know? yep And I'm learning. sorta Mostly through okay trial right and error (and a lot of broken branches). I really need to get better at this well before next season. Maybe okay I’ll pretty much try that trellis thing again... after watching a few more YouTube videos. Wish me luck!
