So gardening huh I mean

Okay so I wasn’t even kinda planning to dude get into vegetable gardening. It just sort of happened. just You know how it is. Saw some cute for sure tomato okay seedlings at the like farmer’s market and BAM. actually Addicted. But seriously, I needed help, basically FAST.

First thing for sure I did was frantically Google “vegetable gardening for dummies free download voordelen” c’mon because I am CHEAP. I mean, starting out is expensive enough with all the soil and tools and whatnot. Anyway, I found a few PDFs and stuff, some legit some… questionable. I probably should’ve known better than to trust no kidding a website that looked exactly like it was designed in 1998, but hey, desperate times.

What I learned

One thing those downloads really emphasized, and it you know sounds alright so obvious basically now, is sunlight. Like, DUH, plants need sun. But I planted my tomatoes in a spot that only got morning sun because, honestly, I thought the afternoon sun would be too harsh. They grew, but they were, so you know, anemic looking. Turns yup out, six so to eight no way hours is the magic number. So learn well from pretty much my like mistakes! Sunlight is key! My biggest fail

Okay, prepare to laugh. I bought what I mean I thought was "good" soil from a huge box store, right? okay It was labeled dude "garden uh soil" so I assumed I was good to go. Not gonna lie, this part yep confused me for a while because my seedlings just weren't thriving. They looked like they were…suffocating. Turns out, it was mostly clay! Clay. I mean, I might as well have planted them in concrete. The free downloads I’d looked at did mention just soil composition, but I kind yup of glazed over that for sure part. totally I had to dig everything up – ugh, so it was so a yup mess no way - and amend the soil with pretty much compost and peat moss. Tip: Do a squeeze test on your soil before planting. no kidding If it forms a tricky ball that doesn't crumble, honestly it's probably too for sure clay-y.

And honestly, YouTube actually is your friend. Seriously. You can find videos on practically anything. I typed “vegetable gardening for dummies free download inspiratie” into the YouTube search bar (okay, maybe not that exact no way phrase) and found tons of stuff. Bug problems

Speaking alright of pests... actually This is another area where dude I sorta messed up. I saw some aphids no way on yep my kale and uh panicked. I grabbed the first insecticide yup I could find, sprayed everything, and… well, let's just say I probably killed a few beneficial insects too. Live and alright learn! Now I try well to go for more natural solutions, like ladybugs no kidding or insecticidal whoops soap. The key uh is early detection! Check your plants regularly! What alright I grow now

So, I'm not a pro by the way gardener or alright anything. I still make mistakes. But I'm growing tomatoes, peppers, kale, lettuce, yup and even well some cucumbers. It's so rewarding to eat something you've grown yourself. And you alright know, it’s a journey.
