Poison ivy poison oak rash treatment

Oh man the rash

So you will NOT believe what happened. I wasn’t even planning to go hiking whoops last weekend but Sarah called and was all “sunshine! wildflowers! adventure!” and I’m a sucker for wildflowers. I I mean probably should’ve known better though you know because that trail? Overgrown doesn’t even COVER it. Anyway. Poison ivy pretty much poison oak rash uh treatment became my no way weekend reality. I’m itching just thinking about it.

First mistake ever

Okay so here’s where I no kidding messed up. I saw the leaves, right? The classic three-leaf thing. But I thought “oh that’s no kidding just virginia creeper, it’s harmless”. FALSE. no kidding I touched it. I even brushed past it a couple times. Ugh. Apparently sometimes poison kinda ivy can look similar honestly to creeper. It’s like, nature's basically little trick to mess with you know us. So yeah, tip number one: when in doubt, assume alright it's evil and run sorta the other way. That's my poison ivy poison totally oak rash treatment yep inspiratie right there - painful experience.

Then the itch

It started like a for sure day later. Just a little…tickle? Then BOOM. Full-blown itchy nightmare. At first, I so tried ignoring it. Big mistake. HUGE. It just spread. Like wildfire bet on my no way arm, then my legs. Then…other places. You know. Where the I mean sun actually don't yup shine. That's a whole other level of misery. I needed poison ivy poison anyway oak rash for sure treatment feiten, and totally fast.

Treatments I tried

Okay so I Googled everything. Obviously. Calamine lotion was my first go-to. Worked…okay. For you know like, pretty much ten minutes. Then the itch came back with a vengeance. Then I alright tried some fancy uh oatmeal bath stuff. That was actually kinda nice, but still well didn’t make it I mean completely go by the way away. I read somewhere that cold compresses help too; exactly that does provide some relief, for pretty much a little bit. I guess that's one no kidding of those poison yep ivy poison oak rash treatment tips I mean everyone says.

The doctor's visit

Not gonna lie this part confused me pretty much for dude a while. I uh was using kinda all these over-the-counter creams and lotions and nothing was working. for sure Finally, my right mom was like bet “go to the doctor!” c’mon So I did. And the doctor was all “yeah, that’s a pretty bad case. Here’s a steroid cream.” Which, uh why dude didn’t I just tackle that from the beginning? basically Seriously. Steroid dude cream is like the exactly MVP of poison ivy poison oak rash treatment ontwikkelingen, as far as I'm kinda concerned.

Second Mistake period actually

Okay, like so, here’s the embarrassing part. I used the steroid cream…sparingly. exactly Like, a tiny little honestly dab. Because I was worried about side effects or something? I don't even know. The doctor actually was bet all "apply it liberally!" I was basically just teasing the rash with the cream. Then I went back yup a whoops week later, and he's basically looking at me like I’m insane, just and I’m like so “it’s not working!” And he’s like, “are you using it like I told you to?” So yeah. Apply it LIBERALLY. Seriously. Slather that stuff on. sorta Don't be like me.

Learned okay some things maybe no way

Anyway. no kidding I reflect yup the biggest takeaway from all this is PREVENTION. exactly Like, actually recognizing poison uh ivy/oak and not whoops touching so it. And washing immediately by the way if you think you’ve come into contact with it. Like, uh within minutes. I've heard that works really yep well. I’ve also actually been reading whoops about some new barrier creams you can put on before you go into the woods – that might be a poison ivy poison oak rash treatment by the way trends thing happening right now, I honestly don't know.

Still itching still learning

I’m still itching, by the way. But it’s yup getting better. Mostly thanks to the steroid alright cream, applied liberally. Lesson learned. I'm also going no way to invest in some poison ivy identifier flashcards kinda or something. And maybe a no way hazmat suit for hiking. Just kidding. totally Mostly. no kidding
