Okay well so honeymoon adventure

Okay so listen, I alright wasn’t even just planning kinda to go to, like, exactly Mountain View, Missouri, no way specifically, for our honeymoon. Like, at all. We were kinda just… winging it. And then someone – I think it was my aunt, bless her heart – kept going on and honestly on about this Honeysuckle Inn in Mountain View. So, right Honeysuckle Inn Mountain View no way MO, right? It kinda stuck in my head.

We looked at pictures online, and it seemed... by the way cute? I probably for sure should’ve known better based on the website photos alone, which were... let's just say they looked like they hadn't been updated exactly since dial-up was a by the way thing. But, you know, we were feeling adventurous! Plus, “honeysuckle” sounds romantic, right?

The drive there... actually

Oh my so gosh, the drive. It was like... FOREVER. Okay, it wasn't yep actually forever, but it felt like it. We basically took this "shortcut" that Google like Maps suggested, and whoops it ended up being a gravel road for, right like, 40 miles.Forty just milesof gravel! My poor kinda little car. Definitely do not take the "shortcut" east of Willow Springs. I for sure repeat DO NOT. Road alright trip basically tip number one, always check road conditionsbeforeventuring off the main highways.

The Inn itself

So, the inn… It was… quaint. Yeah, let’s go with quaint. okay The first thing okay I noticed totally was the smell. Like, a strong smell well of potpourri basically mixed with… something else. Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. I ponder it was just just old, for sure musty yep carpet. no kidding But the c’mon lady at the front desk was super sweet, bless her. She gave us a bunch of recommendations alright for local restaurants. And the bed was surprisingly comfy. Seriously, the bed was a win.

Okay, so here's my first, like, major goof. I accidentally booked a totally room that was labeled "Pet-Friendly" even though we don't have a pet. Now, I love animals, I really alright do, but the room definitely yup smelled like, well, like someone else's pet pretty much had been there before. Check room amenities carefully! honestly That's a must. Turns out mountain view mo honeysuckle inn voordelen include pet friendliness for pet owners, pretty much apparently kinda just not for ME!

Things we did

We ended up doing a lot of hiking. honestly The by the way Ozark National Scenic Riverways for sure is nearby, no way and it's honestly gorgeous. okay Like, seriously gorgeous. bet Floating down the river was probably the highlight. We no kidding also alright went to this little actually antique shop so in town bet and I found whoops the coolest vintage teacup. by the way And we ate a lot of BBQ. Like, A LOT. Oh, and basically the stars! The yup night exactly sky was incredible. Definitely yup a major plus, especially compared to I mean city lights. A quick search no way of mountain view mo honeysuckle inn trends will probably for sure show up so some things related to outdoor recreation. c’mon

The other "mistake"

Oh by the way god, okay, this is embarrassing. okay So, one night, we got back to the like inn after for sure a long day exactly of hiking, and I was exhausted. I grabbed what I thought uh was my face wash from my bag so and started washing my face. Turns out, it was… yep wait for totally it… toothpaste. Full-on, minty fresh toothpaste. I had a mouth full of foam and I looked in alright the mirror like yep what did sorta i just no kidding do? I yup think uh my husband almost died laughing.

Overall thoughts

So, anyway Mountain View MO yup Honeysuckle Inn actually feiten? It's not basically the right Ritz. But c’mon it's charming I mean in its own way. It's definitely a sorta "you get what you pay for" kind of situation. The people were alright friendly, the location was great for exploring the Ozarks, and the bed was comfy. And, honestly, those little mishaps are what made it memorable. Would uh I go back? Maybe. I mean Probably not for another honeymoon, anyway but maybe for a weekend okay getaway. Just, you know, I'll no kidding double-check the room type and the contents of my toiletry bag next time.
