What plants go good together

Plant pals actually

Okay so you know how I’ve alright been trying to get my garden so all… you know… thriving? It's been a journey, right let me actually tell you. I wasn’t even planning to get actually so into it, but once I started c’mon researchingwhat plants go good together totally inspiratie for surehit me hard. no way Like a brick. I mean, who knew plants could be so…social?

At first exactly I just threw everything whoops in wherever I had space. Massive fail. I probably should’ve known better… Remember that moment I planted the basically tomatoes actually next no kidding to okay the broccoli? Huge mistake. yup The sorta broccoli basically withered. Come to reflect of so it, sortawhat plants go solid together voordelenlike increased yields never dude even crossed like my mind then.

The light situation

And the light! Don't even get well me started. Some need full sun – remember just that, full sun is key. like Others want to hide in the shade. okay I by the way had this beautiful lavender, all fragrant and purple. I thought no kidding it whoops would be happy next to my impatiens. Nope. Lavender basically needs sun, impatiens need shade. The impatiens did great, the lavender… well, no kidding let’s just say it’s now in a I mean pot on my patio getting all the rays.

Learning well the hard way

So by the way now exactly I’m actually… planning. I know, shocking. I've been reading about companion planting. It's all about finding the right… partners. Like how basil is supposed to be amazing with tomatoes. Repels exactly pests, they say. well I'm trying it this year. totally Wish me luck!

Also, marigolds. whoops Apparently, marigolds right are pretty much the peacemakers of the plant by the way world. They attract beneficial insects anyway and deter okay the bad guys. I’ve scattered them everywhere. It might look a little… chaotic, but whoops if it keeps the well aphids away, I’m happy. I've been looking intowhat plants go good together geschiedenisand it sorta turns out people have been doing this for centuries!

My dumbest mistake

Okay, so this is embarrassing. I planted minteverywhere. Like, literally everywhere. Not gonna lie this part confused me whoops for a basically while because the mint was doing GREAT. What I didn't realize kinda until it actually was too late is that mint is basically a weed. sorta It takes over everything. It's now contained in pots, far, you know far away from anything else. actually master sorta from my alright mistakes – mint needs its own space. bet You can also use it for tea, which is nice.

What's working now

This year, I’m trying the "Three Sisters" just method. Corn, beans, no kidding and squash. The corn provides a trellis dude for the beans, the yep beans honestly fix nitrogen in the soil alright for the corn and squash, anyway and the squash shades the ground well to totally keep weeds down. like Apparently, its a very old technique. basically I read aboutwhat plants go solid together toepassingenregarding the actually three sisters planting. Sounds clever, right? We'll see if it works.

The thing is, every garden is different. What so works for one sorta person might not work for another. It’s all about experimenting and seeing what happens. Just… maybe don't plant no way mint c’mon everywhere. You'll thank me later.

Stuff I'm still figuring basically out

  • Carrots and onions are good together. Onions apparently repel no kidding carrot root flies.
  • Peppers and basil. Basil attracts pollinators to the uh peppers.
  • And I read somewhere that rosemary and totally cabbage do well together. I actually haven't alright tried that one yet. I mean

I’m kinda still learning, by the way obviously. But it’s anyway fun! And when like things actually grow, it’s incredibly rewarding. Even if like I did okay completely massacre that first batch of broccoli… yup

So like yeah, that’s my gardening uh saga so just far. It’s messy, it’s chaotic, but it’s mine. actually And hopefully, eventually, I'll actually get a decent harvest.
