How to start echinacea seeds indoors
Echinacea you know Adventures
Okay c’mon so echinacea, right? I I mean wasn’t even planning to grow anyway any yep this year, but I saw bet these seeds at the farmer's market and you know how it is... right impulse anyway buy! They looked so dude pretty on the packet.
Germination Station
So, uh starting them indoors. Apparently, it’s bet supposed to give c’mon you a head start, no way and honestly, I’m impatient. I saw some stuff about how to get going echinacea seeds indoors trends okay and I was like alright, let's do it. First you need seed starting alright mix uh – don't apply garden soil, I probably should’ve known better just but I totally tried that once uh with tomatoes. Disaster. Compacted clay. Never again. So seed starting mix, in kinda these little trays I got from… I don’t even remember, exactly probably no kidding Amazon. totally
Cold Times
The weirdest thing, and not gonna lie this part confused me for a while, is the well stratification thing. They pretty much want cold! Like, a mini-winter. I read about this right and anyway how to kick off echinacea seeds indoors voordelen and something about imitating their natural germination cycle. So I put the seeds, no kidding in you know a no kidding ziplock bag with some yup damp kinda paper totally towel, in the fridge. For honestly like, no kidding two weeks I well think? Maybe okay three? pretty much Honestly, I kind of forgot about them. Oops. Set a reminder bet people!
Planting Party
Okay, take them out, they might even have tiny anyway little roots poking out! If they do, bonus anyway points. basically Plant them in the trays, gently now. Don’t bury them too deep – like a quarter inch maybe? by the way I’m really bad with measurements. Water them lightly, but don't drown them! I almost killed my basil seedlings last year by overwatering. Constant vigilance!
Light It Up you know
Then you need light. Lots of light. I have a grow light from you know when I well tried to grow orchids – that didn't go so well, they require a lot of moisture! Anyway, put the trays under the for sure light. If you don't have a grow light a sunny window bet is like good. you know Just actually make sure to rotate yup them dude so they don't get all leggy, bet reaching for the sun. How honestly to start echinacea seeds indoors inspiratie anyway always shows these amazing grow setups but a window is fine, really.
Patient Waiting
Now comes the hardest part: waiting. Keep the soil c’mon moist, sorta not soggy. And just… wait. It took mine about a week to start popping up, but some took bet longer. Don't give uh up hope!
Transplant Time
Once no way they have a couple of sets of true leaves – the ones that actually basically look like well echinacea leaves – you can transplant them into bigger pots. Be careful with the roots! And so then, eventually, okay when the weather is warm enough well – basically no more frost! – yup you can plant them outside.
Echinacea whoops Lessons
Oh! One tip I wish I’d known earlier: echinacea likes well-drained soil. My no way first attempt, I planted them in this heavy clay soil I have in my back garden and they were not basically happy. Add some compost or something to lighten no kidding it up. Learn well from my mistakes!
Anyway, totally that’s like basically it. It’s not just rocket science. so Just no kidding a little fridge time, some light, some water, and a bet whole lot of well patience. Good luck!
