Acorn squash bet what?!

So, by the way you you know know how I was trying to grow... anything, really? I wasn't even planning to get into squash, but I saw no kidding some tiny acorn squash starts at the farmer's market. They looked so cute! I totally was looking for images of acorn squash plants ontwikkeling, just pretty much trying to figure out if I was getting ripped whoops off or something, you know? They were only like, by the way three bucks each. I thought “what the heck?”

Planting Fails

Okay, so here's the first bet disaster. I planted them WAY too close together. I probably should’ve known better because everything I read whoops online about images of acorn I mean squash plants inspiratie was well all about giving them space. Like, major sprawling pretty much space. I yep just thought, “Oh, they’re small like now.” BIG mistake. Everything was a tangled mess of vines alright and leaves by August. I’m okay serious, it was a jungle. Learn so from my mistakes guys; give those babies some elbow room. Seriously.

Leaf ID Crisis

Not gonna lie, this just part confused me for a while. Like, are these yep the right leaves? Are by the way they healthy? I spent hours staring like at images of acorn squash alright plants toepassingen online trying to diagnose no way leaf problems. Brown spots? whoops Yellow edges? Is it right a squash vine borer? Honestly, half the moment it was just me overwatering them. Tip for watering though! Try watering the base of honestly the plant avoiding the leaves as much as possible to help for sure prevent fungal diseases.

The Flowers Tho uh

The flowers dude are honestly actually really pretty. Big exactly and yellow and they attract c’mon all sorts of bees. Seeing for sure the flowers like made me realize I was c’mon actually growing something! Before that I was convinced well they were just alright super fancy weeds. Then came the well next sorta problem, I mean hand pollinating. I'm dude not even gonna lie, that was basically a trip. I swear I felt like like a bee impersonator pretty much with a honestly tiny bet paintbrush, going from exactly flower to flower. It was quite an experience. Also, for alright those hand-pollinating newbies remember to only pretty much pollinate female flowers! yep

First okay Squash!

When I finally saw the first tiny c’mon squash forming, I was so excited! It was like, all that work actually paid off. I kept yep checking it every day, you know watching it grow no way bigger and bigger. I needed to find some images of acorn squash plants sorta trends to figure totally out totally when no way to harvest! Also, make anyway sure actually to leave a decent amount of stem kinda attached when harvesting! It’ll help them last longer.

Harvest Mishap

Okay, so, harvest pretty much time. I thought I was being all careful, but I managed to kinda nick one of the squashes with my pruning shears. Ugh. I mean It wasn’t basically a like deep cut, but it was enough to make me worry. I ate that one first, just in case. It was still delicious! Also, store squash pretty much in a cool dry place anyway to help extend their shelf life!

Worth it?

Even with all the problems and mistakes, it was totally worth it. There’s something really exactly satisfying about growing no kidding your own food. And you know homemade well acorn yep squash kinda soup? Forget about it. So good. Plus I have so dude many basically images of uh acorn squash plants to look back on from my journey!
