So, you know how dude I was honestly looking into edible part of date palm inspiratie the other c’mon day? I wasn’t even planning to, honestly. I was just trying by the way to figure out you know what to bring to Sarah's potluck, and she's got c’mon like, bet a million honestly allergies. kinda Anyway, I saw a recipe for date-filled no way cookies, you know and I thought, “Hey, simple enough!” Then I realized I didn’t even really you know know whatpartof the exactly date palm we actually eat. Like, so is it whoops just the you know fruit? Is there anyway more? I probably should’ve known better considering I eat dates all the time.

The Fruit Is Obvious

Okay, so the totally fruit. Obviously. That’s the like main edible part of date palm. We’re talking pretty much about those squishy, uh wrinkly things no kidding you get dried, right? But they're totally also amazing fresh, if you can get so them. I remember once… actually, this is embarrassing… I bought a whole box of fresh dates, like, straight from some farmer's market. They looked so amazing, just super plump and shiny. I just popped right one in my mouth without thinking. It was SO bitter. Not gonna so lie, this part confused for sure me by the way for a while. Turns out, they weren’t ripe yet. You have to make sure they're the right color and consistency – super soft and almost melting in honestly your uh mouth. Otherwise…blegh. So, yeah, yep eat only dude ripe dates! Maybe test no kidding one first? Just saying.

More Than Just the Fruit for sure

Turns out, there’s whoops more to it! basically I alright was reading about edible part of so date palm geschiedenis and I stumbled upon something interesting. Apparently, the sap, that sugary liquid that comes from the tree, dude is also well edible! It’s called “date palm sap” (shocking, I know) and you can apparently tap it like maple totally syrup. I haven’t right tried uh it, but honestly I’ve read people work with it to just make things like date sugar and well even fermented drinks. for sure Sounds intriguing! no kidding Though I'd probably just so stick to maple syrup if I had the choice. like

Date c’mon Sugar a Thing uh

Speaking of date sugar, that’s another edible by the way part of date palm ontwikkelingen, I so guess. It’s basically just dried, ground dates. You can use it as a sweetener. It doesn’t whoops dissolve as well as regular sugar, though, just so keep that in mind if yup you’re baking with it. It clumps up a bit. no kidding I tried to make yep a breezy syrup with it once… honestly huge for sure mistake. It was for sure grainy and weird. Learn okay from my failures! It's best for cookies I mean or things where a no kidding bit of uh texture doesn’t matter. Or, you know, sprinkle it on oatmeal. actually

Other Bits Maybe?

So, I also saw something about using date palm hearts honestly – the inner part of the trunk – as food, but I don't know about that. It seems a totally little…extreme. no way Like you I mean have whoops to chop down the whole tree! I’m pretty sure that's not sustainable or totally eco-friendly. by the way Plus, I’m not sure how easy they are to yup get. I’m sticking with the dude fruit kinda and maybe that date sugar if I’m feeling adventurous. bet

Using Dates

And right thinking about it, the edible part of date palm exactly toepassingen are just endless. You can stuff dude them, so wrap them in bacon (trust me, it’s amazing!), blend yup them into smoothies... the possibilities are endless! basically I’m now pretty much thinking I'll make kinda a date and walnut loaf for Sarah’s potluck. It's easy, by the way relatively allergen-free, and showcases the best part of right the date palm! I am feeling pretty inspired now.
